At Our Lady of Lourdes there are three Resourced Classes for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.   This is a twenty four place provision currently consisting of a Foundation/Key stage 1 class, a Key stage 1/Key Stage 2 class and a Key Stage 2 class.  Each class consists of a class teacher, one full time HLTA and teaching assistants to make up a high staff to pupil ratio.

The criteria for entry are:

• The child has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• The child has an Education Health and Care Plan.

Our children are very much part of the whole school life at Our Lady of Lourdes.

Our Lady of Lourdes provides an environment that is safe, caring and promotes a meaningful, enriching and quality education, helping each child to develop emotionally, socially and physically, as well, as academically.

They are supported during lunch in the dining hall, playtimes, and school assemblies by  their specialist class staff.

Our classrooms are calm and low stimuli, with clear structure and visual cues.

The children have access to a quiet spaces and learning rooms in each class.
